Florida Vehicle Titles

How to sign your Florida Vehicle Title

Be sure to sign and print your name exactly as spelled on the front of your title. Avoid erasures, scribbles, and strike-throughs. If your Florida title shows a lien or a bank name printed on the front, then your title will need to be signed off by the lien holder or have a separate lien release letter.

  • On the front of the title, sign where it reads “Signature of Seller.”
  • On the front of the title, print your name(s) where it reads “Printed Name of Seller.”

You do not need to request a paper title prior to trading your vehicle with a Florida dealership. If you are selling your vehicle, rather than trading it with a Florida dealership, you will need to request a paper title be printed in order to transfer ownership to the purchaser.
