Panama City Insights

In Panama City, we notice that pickup trucks like the Dodge Ram 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado are still popular with people selling older vehicles. Many of these trucks are about 10 to 15 years old and often have issues with their transmissions or rust, especially on the frame and undercarriage. This makes them less desirable for buyers, but for us, they’re still valuable. Sedans, particularly older Honda Accords and Ford Tauruses, also make up a good share of what we see. Many of these models are around 12 to 20 years old and sometimes have problems with their engines or worn out suspensions. Despite those issues, these cars are straightforward to resell for parts or scrap. We’re seeing a dip in the number of small, economy cars, like Nissan Versa or Hyundai Elantra, likely because fuel prices have changed and folks are leaning toward bigger vehicles. However, trucks and SUVs such as the Jeep Grand Cherokee or Toyota 4Runner continue to be in demand, especially when they’re around 10 years old but have high miles. Commonly, these vehicles come with worn out brakes or leaky gaskets, but they still fetch decent prices. Vehicles that are a decade or older with typical wear and tear are still bought and sold, but the trend is leaning toward larger vehicles now, as many owners look to upgrade or switch. If you have an older vehicle, it’s worth knowing that these types continue to have a place in the market here.
